Kenya, Turkana County, 23th March 2018 – On the shores of Lake Turkana, a child is engaged in fishing. About 90% of the inhabitants of the county live below the poverty line and about 80% have never attended school. Fishing in Lake Turkana is primarily done by individual fishermen who share hand-crafted,hand-powered boats. Fishing takes place in the first few kilometers of the lake. There are no large fishing vessels in Lake Turkana and very few with engines.
